Friends of Lemoine Point Native Plant Sale

COVID Safe Online Sale Starts June 9

Area residents looking to do a little landscaping or improve the environmental footprint on their property are invited to participate in the Friends of Lemoine Point annual native plant sale, which this year, because of ongoing protocols and restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, will take place online with curbside pick-up.

For many years, the Friends of Lemoine Point, in partnership with Cataraqui Conservation, have managed a tree nursery at the north end of the Lemoine Point Conservation Area to grow plant stock for various reforestation activities using seeds and cuttings from native trees and shrubs. Some of these trees and shrubs will be available for sale, with all proceeds going back to support the nursery and the tree stock being grown to support local forestry programs.

Online sales will begin June 9 with the first day of curbside pick-ups on Wednesday June 16. The sale will continue for the month of June and July as plant stock permits. Purchasers can pick up their plants Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Timeslots have been created to help with COVID-19 protocols and physical distancing. During the checkout process please pick a timeslot and note that it takes the volunteers a few days to prepare orders and you may have to wait until the next week for pick-up depending on slots available.

To purchase trees and/or shrubs, visit www.cataraquiconservation.ca/pages/lemoine-point-nursery, select the plants you wish to purchase and add them to your ‘shopping cart,’ select your pick up date and time, complete the online checkout and payment and then pick up your plants at the designated day and time.

The Lemoine Point Native Plant Nursery is located at 1440 Coverdale Drive in Kingston (just inside the gates of the Lemoine Point Conservation Area).
