Update Jan. 25, 2022: 12:09 pm
Trails 1,2,3, and 4 at Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area have been freshly groomed and track-set for classic-cross country skiing. Service Roads to the sugar bush and to the dam have been compressed for multi-use (skate skiing, walking, snowshoeing and dog walking). Conditions overall are great however a few heavily forested areas didn't get the full accumulation from last night, still are in good to fair shape.
The Rental Office at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area Outdoor Centre will be open for ski and snowshoe rentals this weekend, along with ski lessons. All equipment and lessons must be booked ahead of time. Booking opens tomorrow (Wednesday) at noon - https://cataraquiconservation.ca/pages/pages-winter-rentals
Please do not walk in the ski track-set. Not sure what a track set it? In the photo above you will notice the skier has their skis in a set of tracks and there is another set to the right, this is created by our grooming equipment and what we mean when we refer to a "track-set". It is very time consuming to create, please help us keep it in good condition between snowfalls by not walking or disturbing the track-set. Thank you.
