Conditions as of 10:15 am, Wednesday Jan. 27:
Trails 1 – 4: Compressed and track-set for traditional cross-country skiing. Conditions are fair – good. The base is still fairly thin and the track-set is fairly weak due to the powdery nature of the snow. Skiers need to be aware of: 1) ice under the base and 2) surface tree roots (especially on Trail 2). The compressed base in the conifer stands is much thinner then in the hardwoods and open areas.
Service Roads to the dam and sugar bush: compressed double wide for multi-purpose users: walking, dog walking, skate skiing, and snowshoeing. Condition is good. Base is much thicker on the service roads.
Please do not walk, walk your dog or snowshoe on the track-set ski trails. Thank you.
