Once again, individuals, families, and groups of friends fanned out throughout the Cataraqui Region to explore the trails at our various conservations areas to not only get some exercise and fresh air, but to also participate in the annual Cataraqui Conservation Hike Challenge.
The entries were processed, and the winners’ names were reviewed by staff and the winner of the full Hike Challenge was Lynn Reynolds, while the Family Challenge winner was Jessica Greenwood.
The purpose behind the challenge was to encourage folks to spend some quality time together in nature, exploring the various trails at Cataraqui Conservation-owned and operated conservation areas and have a chance to win some prizes. The event ran from Sept. 1 to Oct. 31, 2021.
Prizes included new Cataraqui Conservation merchandise, outdoor items donated by the Cataraqui Conservation Foundation, and an assortment of birding books. Annual passes were won by Pamela Farber, Megan Laan, Julia McFarlane and Ali Ryder.
Planning has already begun for the 2022 edition of the Hike Challenge. For more information, visit www.cataraquiconservation.ca. Thank you to all who participated in the challenge.
