On January 19, 2026, the Cataraqui Low Water Response Team confirmed the Cataraqui Region is no longer in a low water condition. Conditions began improving in October following a summer that was much drier than normal. Seasonal precipitation from October to the end of December has caused goundwater levels and stream flows to rebound to their long-term averages. A growing snowpack and seasonal precipitation outlook from the province for the remainder of the winter could mean the normal status is here to stay for the short term.
