Cataraqui Conservation would like to congratulate the City of Kingston on the announcement that it is moving forward with the purchase of the Lemoine Point Farm.
“We look forward to partnering with the City of Kingston and other non-profits to help protect this treasured shoreline and support sustainable public access into the future,” said Paul Proderick, Cataraqui Conservation’s Board Chair.
“This announcement is exciting news for Kingston and the community,” added General Manager David Ellingwood. “We welcome the opportunity to help preserve its natural beauty, support conservation efforts and strengthen the community’s connection to this unique waterfront property.”
The Lemoine Point Farm is a 32-hectare (80 acre) parcel of land along the Lake Ontario shoreline in the southwest corner of Kingston. The property is immediately south of and borders on the popular Lemoine Point Conservation Area operated by Cataraqui Conservation.
The Full Authority Board, Cataraqui Conservation Staff and all who visit Lemoine Point look forward to hearing more about the City’s plan for the property at the March 24, 2026, City of Kingston Council Meeting.
