trail closure sign

Cataraqui Conservation is advising users of the Cataraqui Trail that work crews will be out making needed improvements to a portion of the trail next week (Sept. 11 to Sept 15).

Part of this process will see Cataraqui Conservation Operations staff, working with a contracted supplier of aggregate products initially building a retaining wall along a section of trail from Perth Road, west to Norway Road. This work will be done Monday, Sept. 11 and Tuesday, Sept. 12. The following three days, Sept. 13 to Sept. 15, trail resurfacing will be conducted along the now revitalized section.

The trail in this small stretch will be CLOSED for use for the entire week as there will be several large trucks and other construction vehicles accessing the work area. For the second phase of the work (Sept. 13 – 15) the parking lot at the Perth Road access point will also be closed.

The expectation is that the trail will be reopened for use at the end of the workday on Friday, Sept. 15. We thank members of the public and trail users for their patience and apologize for any inconvenience.
