NEW - As of 2 p.m., trails 1-4 have been groomed and both service roads have been compressed by Cataraqui Conservation Operations Staff. Trails are overall in good condition, however there are a few spots with heavy tree cover where the snowpack is thinner. One spot on Trail 4 is lacking in snow due to runoff from the City of Kingston's snow dump. A slight detour has been groomed to go around the problem area.
Conditions on the cross-country ski trails at Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area remain in a natural state. In terms of grooming, we are waiting to see how much rain will fall over the next few hours and will reassess then. An update will be posted tomorrow (Thursday, Jan 25).
Grooming and track setting of trails takes place when we have a new snow fall. New updates on trail conditions will only be posted when fresh grooming occurs or trails deteriorate. This post is currently the most up to date info we have.
