The Friends of Lemoine Point along with Cataraqui Conservation are hosting the annual fall tree planting session at the Lemoine Point Conservation Area and are seeking community volunteers to help plant 350 trees.
On Saturday Oct. 1, 2022, participants are asked to meet at the south parking lot (Front Rd. Entrance) to join Cataraqui Conservation staff and the Friends of Lemoine Point volunteers in planting trees from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Volunteers are reminded to bring a shovel if you have one, work gloves, rubber boots, and their energy.
Participants are asked to do a self screening and if they are not feeling well or have COVID-19 symptoms please stay at home and do not come to the planting event.
This fall would also be a good time to consider joining the Friends of Lemoine Point. A $20 annual membership (+ $10 for additional members in your household) not only adds you to the Friends’ spring and fall newsletter mailing list, but also provides much needed financial support to the many initiatives taking place at Lemoine, such as maintaining trail benches, invasive species control efforts, plantings and biodiversity projects. Visit the Cataraqui Conservation website for more information on Friends activities and membership.
